The Mummy MOT®
A Comprehensive Postnatal Check Up (No Matter How Long Ago You Gave Birth)
We are proud to offer The Mummy MOT, a specialist postnatal examination following both vaginal and caesarean deliveries.
This assesses how your posture, pelvic floor and stomach muscles are recovering after childbirth. Providing a bespoke treatment and rehabilitation programme, with your goals and lifestyle factors in mind, to help recovery. Samantha and Amy have trained with some of the UK’s leading Women’s Health physiotherapists and is fully trained and licensed to carry out a Mummy MOT.
Movement For Mums
Mums need to bend, squat and lift, so she provides postnatal clinical care and functional exercises for clients following birth (no matter how long ago).
Up to half of all women experience weakness in both the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles after pregnancy, and up to a third still have a tummy gap at eight weeks post-birth.
This can cause instability or poor core strength leading to the development of pelvic or back pain, or bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction. These conditions should not be something you should just put up with as a result of having a baby.
It’s recommended that women have an initial assessment after their six to eight-week GP check, but Samantha also treats women who gave birth years ago that may still have a tummy gap or related pelvic floor issues.
